  Walks

Our favorite walks are:

  • Along Sandbanks Beach, across the chain ferry, along Shell Bay and Studland beach, up the footpath to the Bankes Arms pub (in time for lunch !) and back
  • Alternatively, park at the Bankes Arms pub, and walk along the cliff to Old Harry then as far as you like to Swanage, then back to the Bankes Arms for a pint; mind, last ferry back to Sandbanks at 11pm !
  • Park at Worth Matravers and walk down the footpath to Seacomb and Winspit, then along the cliffs to Dancing Ledge,
    • and back up the footpaths to Worth Matravers
    • or, if you can manage it, further along the cliffs to Anvil Point (and the lighthouse) and back along the Pilgrims Way to Worth Matravers; you'll have earned a pint at the Square & Compass
  • Along the cliffs at St Aldhelms Head; particularly to watch the sun go down over the bay towards Portland Bill
  • Along the cliffs at Kimmeridge and fossil hunting in the bay
  • Along the cliffs at Lulworth Cove
  • The RSPB Nature Reserve at Arne
